Contact form
Let visitors send you a message from any page, with your own extra fields such as a phone number, order number or topic dropdown.
The Contact form section gives store visitors a simple way to get in touch with you. It always includes Name, Email and Message fields, and you can add your own text fields and dropdowns to collect the details you need.
1. Our guide to set up a Contact form section:
The form always shows these fields:
Name
Email (required)
Message (required)
Fields you add as blocks appear between Email and Message, in the order of the blocks in the sidebar.
2. Section settings
Color scheme: The colors of the section.
Heading: The title shown above the form. Leave it blank to hide it.
Heading size: 15–80px.
Description: Text shown under the heading.
Make button full width: Stretches the Send Message button to the full width of the form.
Section padding
Top padding: 0–100px.
Bottom padding: 0–100px.
3. Block settings
Text field block
Adds a field where customers type an answer, such as a phone number or an order number.
Field label: The field's name, shown in the form and in the email you receive. Use a unique label for each field so every answer is captured in the email.
Use long text: Shows a larger, multi-line text box instead of a single line.
Required field: Customers must fill in this field to send the form. Required fields are marked with an asterisk (*).
Dropdown field block
Adds a dropdown list, such as a topic or a reason for contacting you. A dropdown field is always required.
Field label: The field's name, shown as the first line of the dropdown and in the email you receive. Use a unique label for each field.
Dropdown values: The choices, separated by commas, for example
Order question, Returns, Wholesale. The dropdown is hidden if this is empty.
4. View contact form submissions
Shopify sends every form submission to your store's sender email address. See View contact form submissions.
5. Tips
Keep the form short. Add only the fields you need to answer the message.
Use a Dropdown field for the topic, so you can see what each message is about at a glance.
Place the section on your Contact page, or add it to a Page template for a dedicated form, such as wholesale enquiries.
