Scrolling text

A continuously scrolling band of text, images, dividers and buttons for announcements, promotions and brand messages.

The Scrolling text section shows a band of content that moves across the screen in a continuous loop. It's listed as Marquee in Add section. Mix text, images such as press logos, divider symbols and buttons to announce a sale, repeat your brand message or show where you've been featured. The band pauses when a customer hovers over it.

Steps:

• In the theme editor, click Add section.

• Locate Marquee.

• Click Save.

The section is added with three Text blocks, each followed by a Divider block. You can add, reorder or remove blocks.

2. Section settings

• General

  • Color scheme: The colors of the band's background and text.

  • Direction: Left / Right. The direction the content moves in.

  • Speed: Slow / Normal / Fast.

  • Space between messages: The gap between blocks, 0–100px.

• Content

  • Font style: Heading / Body. The font used for the text.

  • Text size: 15–80px. Applies to all Text blocks.

  • Icon size: 20–80px. The size of the icons in Text blocks.

  • Divider symbol size: 8–60px. The size of the symbols in Divider blocks.

• Section width

  • Section width:

    • Full width: The band reaches the edges of the screen.

    • Full width padded: The band is inset slightly from the edges of the screen, with rounded corners.

    • Page width: The band stays within the page width, with rounded corners.

  • Corner radius: Rounds the band's corners, 0–60px. Shown when Section width isn't Full width.

• Inner padding

  • Top padding: Space inside the band, above the content, 0–100px.

  • Bottom padding: Space inside the band, below the content, 0–100px.

• Outer padding

  • Top padding: Space above the band, 0–100px.

  • Bottom padding: Space below the band, 0–100px.

3. Block settings

Text block

• Icon: An icon shown before the text. Choose None to hide it.

• Text: The message to show.

• Link: Optional. Makes the text clickable.

Divider block

A symbol that separates your messages.

• Symbol: Sparkle / Diamond / Vertical line / Dot / Star / Asterisk / Slash / Plus.

• Symbol color: Leave it blank to use the text color.

Button block

• Button label: The text on the button.

• Button link: Where the button goes.

• Use outline button style: Shows the button with an outline instead of a solid fill.

Image block

• Image: The image to show, such as a logo or badge.

• Link: Optional. Makes the image clickable.

• Image ratio: Adapt to image / Square / Portrait / Circle / Landscape.

• Image width: 30–300px.

• Corner radius: 0–40px.

4. Tips

• Put a Divider block between messages so each one is easy to tell apart.

• Use Image blocks with press or partner logos for an "as seen in" band.

• Keep messages short. Customers read them as they move past.
