# Set up collections

Your collections can be organized by product type, gender, material, color, size, season, sale status, or whatever you want.&#x20;

## Here's how to set up collections on Shopify, step-by-step.

#### 1. From your <mark style="color:blue;">**Shopify admin**</mark>, go to <mark style="color:blue;">**Products**</mark> > <mark style="color:blue;">**Collections**</mark>. Click on **'**<mark style="color:blue;">**Create collection**</mark>**'**.

#### 2. Input the <mark style="color:blue;">Title</mark>, <mark style="color:blue;">Description</mark>, and <mark style="color:blue;">Image</mark> for the collection.&#x20;

#### 3. In the <mark style="color:blue;">**Collection type**</mark> section, select the type of collection you would like to build.&#x20;

#### *You can create two types of collections:*

* A **manual** **collection** includes only the products that you choose individually.&#x20;
* An **automated** **collection** uses selection conditions to automatically include matching products. After you set up the conditions, future products are added automatically.&#x20;

#### 4. Click “<mark style="color:blue;">**Save**</mark>” when finished and get ready to start adding products to your collection
